Bedroom Transformation: Before & After

This bedroom’s original colour scheme was predominantly black, white and fuchsia.

After 5 years of living with this colour scheme, my client decided to give herself an early Christmas present and get the room transformed with colours that were more relaxing and soothing. The colour chosen for this transformation was duck egg blue which can range from blue to green end of the colour spectrum.

The first step was to re-organise some key furniture items in the room to make the room more spacious and free flowing. The next step was to replace the bright wall paper with a really soft blue Resene paint for the walls.

Given that the room was decorated by an interior design professional only 5 years ago, the existing pieces were retained as much as possible. The brightly coloured armchair and the dated ottoman were re-upholstered.

The white linen curtains with the fuchsia borders were re-fashioned to white linen curtains with soft blue floral linen borders.

And of course, a number of cushions were added to provide colour, warmth and beauty to the room. You can never have too many cushions!

A few changes – but the end result is quite dramatic!

That’s an amazing transformation. I love the mix of soft blues patterns and colours.
What you’ve achieved is a beautiful and tranquil looking space.
    I now have bedroom envy!
